NEW ALBANY KIWANIS CLUB

Kiwanis International

Kiwanis is a global community of clubs, members and partners dedicated to improving the lives of children one community at a time. Today, we stand with more than 550,000 members from K-Kids to Key Club to Kiwanis and many ages in between in 80 countries and geographic areas. Each community has different needs, and Kiwanis empowers members to pursue creative ways to serve the needs of children, such as fighting hunger, improving literacy and offering guidance.

Kiwanis clubs host nearly 150,000 service projects each year.

Local Chapter

This New Albany Kiwanis Club consists of fifty plus members dedicated to improving the life of children in New Albany and Union County. Since it’s founding in 1929, the New Albany Kiwanis Club has sponsored many projects to raise money for charitable contributions for needy children.

Our primary fund raisers include the annual Hotbed Classic basketball tournament, now in it’s 29th year, and Flag Services to local businesses. The New Albany Kiwanis Club has several committees devoted to different needs such as athletic activities, medical needs, human and spiritual growth, education, and college scholarships, as well as, special projects for unforeseen events such as Hurricane Katrina.

Bill Parks, Mike Nobles (both Parks and Nobles are previous Hixson Award Winners and Former Hotbed Directors), David Goode, Current Hotbed Director, and Donna Weeden, New Albany Kiwanis Club President.
