 | Have you ever noticed how patriotic our community looks on special holidays throughout the year with American flags hung in pride on area businesses and organizations?
Each year the local Kiwanis club offers local businesses an American flag contract. This contract obligates the club to provide and maintain a flag bracket at your business establishment and to display a flag at that business on special dates during the year.
This project is one of the largest sources of income for the New Albany Kiwanis Club and enables the club to support various projects, many of which involve the youth of New Albany and Union County.
This year the fully tax-deductible flag contract is $25.00. The dates that flags will be flown for 2007 are as follows:
Armed Forces Day, May 19
Memorial Day, May 28
Flag Day, June 14
Independence Day, June 29 – July 4 (Several Days of flag display in coordination with the New Albany Freedom Celebration.)
Labor Day, September 3
Remembrance Day, September 11
Veterans Day, November 11
